Final Exit Plan

For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3).

Life and death are very sensitive issues which are ignored and not giving much attention, because it comes along with its own pains, sorrow, grieve, anguish and the vacuum it creates or leave behind but yet part of human institution.

Life welcomes or usher us into this world once we are born, after a perfect completion of our worldly works assign to us by our maker, death shows us the exit from the earth to the land of dead. It forms part of our stay on earth and hence our departure.

As Christians in the Lord, death should not scare us but rather be a profit because our Lord and Savior Jesus tasted death and dead could not withstand Him. A Christian who has found perfect peace and eternal salvation through the death of our Lord and Savior  Jesus Christ, and so boast of nothing else except “only about the cross of our  Christ  by which His cross the world is dead to us, and we are dead to the world” (Galatians 6:14).

Jesus died on the cross so that we too, might “die to sin and live for righteousness” (1 Peter 2:24); a Christian dead to the world. This does not give us the permit or the mandate to act otherwise, because it is said in the bible “if you die your life is hidden with Christ in God”.

In that case I have to commit suicide because am a Christian. No! Don’t deceive yourself if that is what is in mind. We are commanded to “let the Spirit direct our lives, and we will not satisfy the desires of human nature”. When we die in righteousness we destroy death, by rising we restore life.

We have the hope that we will inherit the kingdom of heaven, and hence go back to our maker. For the death of Christ push away sin (death), and restored righteousness (life) to humanity.

As Christians, our dynamic relationship with people and our deeds on earth, these are the things that are bringing the beauty in our lives and those things are going to serve as the source of heritage people are going to look at when we are dead. The life we lived will serve as a step and a profit for the living.

Life is a stage or necessary end that every man will pass through this journey of life and death we should not fear when we are call to rest by our maker, for we have hope that we will rise up with Christ in His glory. Amen.
